What’s the difference between Bluetooth and Stereo Bluetooth?

IAmWonderWoman asked:

I'm planning on buying a new cell phone, and one of the features is stereo Bluetooth. The phone can also play MP3s, so does this mean I can listen to music through my Bluetooth earpiece?

In general that is what it would mean, but of course you need a stereo bluetooth headset, not just one of the generic-looking over the ear pieces. I have a phone capable of bluetooth, mp3, and stereo bluetooth, but since my bluetooth is a cheap one, I cannot hear music from it. Just make sure you check all the details before you purchase, caveat emptor

If the phone is bluetooth stereo capable, that means it’s a music phone. to listen to you music through the bluetooth earpiece it MUST be a stereo bluetooth in order for the music to come through the headset.

stereo bluetooth is bluetooth headphones that you listen to music on from a mp3 player or a mp3 player phone. Bluetooth headsets are just a headset that fits over your ear
