Bluetooth is just the technology/mechanism. You are right they are just using the wireless head-set that communicates with the cell phone using bluetooth wireless technology to connect.

Well the wireless headsets use bluetooth to send the information back and forth. I've never heard anyone calling a wireless headset a bluetooth but that would be the same thing. However, bluetooth is also used for file transfers (like pictures from the phone and transfering ringtones to the phone) and for things like updating notes and calendars.

Bluetooth is the technology that the wireless headsets use. it just makes it so the phone and the headset can talk to each other. You said you wanted more info so here it is, Bluetooth was named after a dutch king who sought to unite his country, when some geeks came up with the technology to simply encrypt and send data short distance they thought that it could unite the phone and computers. So they named it after that king, And besides if they named it black tooth they would just assume they were talking about some Hick or bum. Hope this helps
