How can I share my high speed internet connection via bluetooth with my macbook?

I also have a new black macbook with a built in bluetooth adapter and airport installed. It isn’t possible. You need to install a wireless router, then everything will work.
December 10th, 2008 at 5:37 amIt is possible depending upon quite a few variables, if your bluetooth adapter supports the LAN profile. If you don’t see bluetooth network connection, under network connections in XP, you need to look at the manual and see if your adapter/driver has that profile.
Enabling ICS on windows xp
Setup ICS on you network device connected to the internet and choose the bluetooth connection and not for the wireless adapter as is shown on the guide.
then you can try connecting to the blue tooth device via the mac. Please make sure that the the computers are in discoverable mode. I’m saying this off the top of my head. So atleast you know that it is possible. Sorry if there may be any ommisions or errors.
I don’t have a mac, however I know it is possible to connect to a bluetooth LAN, I’ve done it successfully with XP on both sides many time.

December 11th, 2008 at 8:25 pmICS is the best way and that is a good answer, but please do not do this. Bluetooth is very insecure in it’s connections. If I am war driving or even up to 2 miles a way I can intercept your bluetooth connection. Use a WEP with a min of 128 encyption to share.
