What is wrong with my bluetooth headsets?

I have the Samsung m500 and it has bluetooth capabilities. I have tried three different bluetooth headsets, Ericson HBH608, Saunsung WEP 200 and Motorola H700. I can hear others fine on it, but my friends on the other end have a really hard time hearing me. I have to take out the bluetooth in order for them to hear me. They say it sounds like I'm at the other end of the room talking into the phone, or upstairs from where I'm at. I'm tired of shopping around for bluetooth headsets that would work well for others on the other end. Is it just me or is bluetooth just this unreliable and unstable?

More info: I get a good signal where I'm at, not odd area, My phone is usually in my phone while I'm on the headset (not far), no low battery probs (usually tested it on full battery), headset's aren't cheap (recommended brands). I have deleted the profile and re-added it just to see if it works better and it doesn't. I feel like I just have bad luck with any bluetooth headset I use. Help!!
